Principles of Privacy

Business Consultants, also known as BCon, is a private organization of stakeholders and employees that believes trust is a valuable asset. It strives to protect personal and corporate information in the process of providing effective service.

From the BCon Ethical Code of Standards

Acquisition and Use of Personal Information

  1. After clarifying the purpose of use, BCon acquires personal information only to the extent that is necessary to address customer concerns or inquiries. The use of personal information will not deviate from the scope and purpose of its acquisition
  2. Should BCon ask for further information, it is only to will answer any queries.

Management and Protection of Personal Information

  1. Management of personal information is carefully controlled and will only be disclosed to a third partner with customer consent and only to the degree that a customer allows. All possible measures will be taken to insure that there is no personal information leakage, loss or damage of any kind.
  2. There is ongoing employee training on information management and security issues in order to create and maintain a secure personal information environment.
  3. Should it be necessary to provide personal information to a third party, it will only be done in accordance with customer consent, unless there are special circumstances, i.e. contract or other legal requirements.
  4. Customers will be asked for their information and for it to be confirmed, so that what is send is actually what is desired, whether this is a response to a complaint, inquiry or request for information/consultation. The response will be sent by the account manager or responsible party in the inquirer's desired format within a short amount of time.
  5. Should there be a case where personal information is leaked or otherwise inadvertently released, this fact will be made public and investigated immediately in order to prevent other subsequent cases from occurring.

Governing Law

  1. Regarding the law and its application with regards to the Management and Use of Personal Information, this company applies the legal standard of the country where the information originates and utilized.

Continuous Improvement of Information Collection and the Personal Information Management System

  1. A continuous improvement management mechanism will be implemented for the protection of personal information.

External of protection of individual information policy transmission

  1. All employees are informed of and urged to observe this policy. Also, this policy is available to the public on the BCon Website.

The Japan Information Processing Development Corporation (JIPDEC) sets the Japanese Industrial Standards and Compliance Program Requirements for Personal Information Protection and Computer Processing, JISQ15001. It is the originator of the Privacy Mark system, which is a designation that recognizes companies for their rigorous adherence to policies that protect personal information, and it gives the Privacy Mark to companies that demonstrate compliance with this policy.
Business Consultants, Inc. received its Privacy Mark on April 4th, 2006 after being thoroughly examined and found in compliance with the standard by JIPDEC. By accepting this certification BCon shows its willingness to take seriously its social responsibility, while at the same time showing that it can safely handle confidential personal/customer information.
